For the 2017 model year, the Nissan Rogue has undergone a number of updates and upgrades, starting with a fresh new look to the exterior. Buyers can also expect to see a new hybrid version of the Rogue later on in the year. There have also been a number of enhancements in both technology and safety, bear in mind that each trim level comes with its own range of equipment and technology packages. Here we are going to take a look at some of the most noticeable and a few of the less noticeable changes to the 2017 Nissan Rogue.

Exterior Changes

Changes to the exterior of any vehicle are often the most noticeable and the 2017 Nissan Rogue has several upgrades worth making note of. The Rogue sports new front and rear fascia panels now sports a V-motion grille in line with most of the rest of the Nissan lineup, and rear "boomerang" style combination rear LED taillights.

The Rogue also comes with a motion-activated liftgate and can be ordered with all-new 17, 18, or 19-inch custom wheels. There have also been a number of improvements to the body design to help reduce mechanical, wind, and road noise. The 2017 Nissan Rogue also offers a number of new options for this year. These include a new "Sun and Sound" touring package, an all-new Platinum trim level, and a new Platinum Reserve Interior.

On the Inside

Just like the exterior of the 2017 Rogue, the interior has also been given a fresh new look. This includes a completely redesigned center console, new cloth upholstery, a new "D-Shaped" steering wheel with available heat, optional seat and mirror memory, new trim finishes, and standard on all trims from SV and up are heated seats and remote starting. The interior is still one of the most comfortable and driver friendly on the market and is rated at the top of its class.

Power and Performance

The base engine in the 2017 Nissan Rogue remains essentially the same as found in the 2016 Nissan Rogue. However, later in the year, buyers can expect to see a Nissan Rogue Hybrid. This model will combine a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine and a 30 kW electric motor together with a Nissan Intelligent Dual Clutch system to produce a combined 176 hp. This system also features regenerative braking that helps to recharge the batteries each time the brakes are applied. The Rogue is available standard with front-wheel drive or with optional all-wheel drive for those who encounter snow and ice in the winter.

Safety Updates

This year the Rogue comes with Intelligent Cruise Control that is designed to monitor the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and use autonomous braking to keep a safe distance between you. The Forward Emergency Braking system now comes with pedestrian detection. The Rogue now comes with Lane Departure Warning and Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are now standard on all models, including the SV trim and above. The 2017 Nissan Rogue is just another step in Nissan's dedication to building the safest vehicles on the road.
